Thursday's Walk

MapMyWalk - iMapMyWalk: Nov 18, 2010 7:30 AM in Montgomery, AL

Shook up the route a little this morning. Not entirely happy with the cut through using Dresden -- the street looks relatively smooth and flat, but has strange little dips that were less than comfortable.

Saw a pair of high school sweethearts kissing in the park. I suspect they looked at me and thought I was envying them their youthful passion. I looked at them and thought they should envy the fact that there's something pretty amazing about being married nearly 31 years and still feeling exactly what they are feeling now.

Ran into Barry Crabb, walking his very pretty little Springer Spaniel. He and his wife Renee are just nice folks.

First .55 miles weren't recorded.
Have I mentioned I hate spam texts??

Big time police something was taking place on Wentworth.
Wanted to take a picture, but didn't want to become a suspect.

I had my red bandana hanging out of my back pocket,
and I was afraid I'd look like I was throwin' colors or something.

I need a t-shirt that says:   I'm just passing through.

Where It Stopped, and Where It Starts Again

This new blog is pretty much just for me, because I wanted to try out the MapMyWalk blog feature, and keep a little walking journal that wouldn't bore readers of of my regular blog to tears.

I am backtracking -- beginning with the day I fell on June 13, because getting myself back in the same shape I was in when I participated in the Half-Marathon in October 2009 has been a long, hard, aggravating road.

First there were muliple hamstring injuries, followed by my fall which took me out of things for a few weeks, then extreme heat/humidity -- and I was pretty much getting fatter and lazier every tick of the clock.

I have put my foot down on that mess, and I'm getting back in the game.

See that weird little straight line there?  This was the morning I fell, and my MapMyWalk app was working overtime as I was picked up out of the road by a friend, and then taken to PriMed by my husband.
